Every year, the kendo clubs in Oregon (Obukan, Portland Kendo Club, and OSU Kendo Club) invite Sadao Sasaki Sensei (7dan) from Hiroshima, Japan to hold a seminar in Portland, Oregon. In the past, we’ve focused on topics like kendo kata, shinsa, and doing shimpan. The seminar will be from October 8-14, 2018. Schedule is detailed directly below ↓

Dinner Notes: It’s okay to bring family and SOs. Please pay $10 upon arrival for each person in your party. We will accept cash, check, or credit card payment (via card reader). Beer will be on tap for those who are 21+ years of age. You are welcome (but not required) to bring food, dessert, and drinks. Portland Kendo Club will provide the main course.

To help offset some of the travel and rental costs, there is a registration fee this year. The fee covers all days whether you actually attend one session, or all of them. Costs break down as follows:
Adult Registration: $30
Juniors (17 and younger) Registration: $20
Lunch (Saturday): $10
Potluck Dinner (Saturday Night): $10/person (paid in cash/card at the event)
If you are 7-dan+ registering is free and we will provide lunches and dinner for you, free of charge. You will still need to register, though.
